Matthias Schweighöfer is still aimed at an international audience. After his success with “Oppenheimer”, where he embodied the German physicist physicist and founder of quantum mechanics Werner Heisenberg, he will now be seen alongside a sitcom star.
For the mystery thriller series “Vanished”, the actor will be in front of the camera together with Kaley Cuoco. The blonde American has become known to an audience of millions through her role as a Penny in the nerd comedy “Big Bang Theory”. Then she attracted attention with the “The Flight Attendant” series.
The series, which was also shot for the US production studio AGC Television (known for the “Tinder-Schwindler”), in which “Tribute of Panem” actor Sam Claflin will also be there, is to be shot at original locations in Paris and Marseille from April 28th.
Who plays Matthias Schweighöfer in “Vanished”?
The plot of “Vanished”: A romantic trip to Paris is developing into a nightmare when Alice (Kaley Cuoco) has to recognize that her friend Tom (Sam Claflin) has disappeared without a trace on a train journey to the south of France. When she tracks down several intrigues, it turns out that Tom may not be the man she thought she knew.
If Schweighöfer will play in the confused action, is still a secret. The fact is that the ARD is already trying to use its feature film and series department for the rights for the material. Meanwhile, Schweighöfer will be seen again with the Netflix thriller “Brick” (start in May) and with the movie “The Life of Wishes” (November 13).
