Johannes Thingnes Bö will not cede as an overall winner. Compatriot Sturla Holm Laegreid has spoiled the big winning party for the dominator of the past few years.
Johannes Thingnes Bö wanted to say goodbye to the overall victory of the biathlon stage. This dream broke on Saturday (22.03.2025). His compatriot Sturla Holm Laegreid not only secured victory in the pursuer in Oslo, but also the large crystal ball. Laegreid grabbed the victory with 20 hits – 15.5 seconds ahead of Bö (3 errors) and 23.9 seconds ahead of Quentin Fillon Maillet from France (1).
“He’s the best at the moment”Bö praised his teammates in the sports show. And what does he take for Sunday: “I want to go to the podium again, will give 100 percent and then everyone will laugh and there will be a big celebration.” He tried to imagine life without biathlon, but he will only find it out next week. “I will only really experience it in summer when I no longer have to train “said the exceptional biathlete Bö, who ends at the age of 31.
next “Average appearance” the Germans
While Bö and Laegreid had a great spectacle, the DSV ski hunters continued their disappointing season. No German came through error -free, with Philipp Nawrath at least one made it into the top ten.
The persecution was reminiscent of Norwegian championships. The first five starters all came from the host, only after a minute with the Italian Tomasso Giacomel the first non-norwegian recorded the persecution.
At Bö it there is a problem at the shooting range
Sprint winner Bö full throttle went on the route and expanded his lead over the first kilometer to 33 seconds. He was able to get over the fact that Bö was the first shooting directly with a mistake. The dominator was finished faster than the competition when shooting. Bö was the first to return, but the lead over Laegreid melted to 8.1 seconds.
During the second shooting, the leadership changed: While Bö had a slice again, Laegreid shot again flawlessly and ran in the pole position – but only 14 seconds before the exceptional runner, which ends at 31 years.
Laegreid very cool to victory
Although he felt the breath of Bö, Laegreid remained cool on the first standing stop and cleared away. Bön also did not torch for long and gave hope for victory alive: 11.2 seconds behind Laegreid he went back on the track with his last pursuer.
Both came together to the last shooting – more spectacles did not work. While Laegreid cleared everything again, the last shot went by at Bö. Laegreid went to his round of honor, Bö had to turn, but brought second place to the finish.
Nawrath Best German
The German ski hunters were back on the side again and were again only average. Philipp Nawrath ran to tenth place as the best DSV athlete. As is so often the case this season, the target water was missing at the shooting range. Not a single came through error -free – after the modest starting point after the sprint, an attack on the top was impossible.
Justus Strelow (16./+2:35.8 minutes/2 errors), Roman Rees (19./+2:44.6 min/3), Johannes Kühn (26./+3:13:13:1/5), Philipp Horn (30./+3:22,3/4), Simon Kaiser (43./+4:06,0/4) and David Zobel (48./+4:42,9/5) experienced the gripping duel at the top only from a distance.
