VfB Stuttgart is still managed by Dietmar Allgaier. After a good half a year as a provisional club chief, the Ludwigsburg district administrator was elected president at the general meeting of the Bundesliga club in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle until 2030.

In the election of the more than 1500 members for the next five years, the 58-year-old prevailed with a very large majority against the other applicants Jochen Haas and Pierre-Enric Steiger. One of two vice presidents remains Andreas Grupp, and Bertram Sugg was also elected to the office.

“We have regained stability, calm and ability to act. Not only in the club, but also on the AG’s supervisory board,” said Allgaier, who initially only wanted to lead VfB temporarily after his appointment last year. In the meantime, however, he believes that he can meet the high demands as a district administrator and club chief at the same time.

VfB Stuttgart: President Allgaier wants stadium for women and youth

After the velocation of his controversial predecessor Claus Vogt last July, the VfB Allgaier association advisory board made the provisional president. A little later he also took over the chair of the VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG supervisory board, into which the club outsourced professional football.

After years of dispute and unrest during the presidency of Vogt and partly among his predecessors, the runner -up now hopes for more harmonious times. Allgaier formulated as one of the goals for his term of office to build another stadium for the women and youth of VfB with up to 15,000 places in the Neckarpark. On Saturday, the Swabians also announced the contract extension of coach Sebastian Hoeneß until 2028.
