Grand-Slam record champion Novak Djokovic has ended his defeat series on the ATP and reached the third round at the Masters in Miami.
The 37-year-old from Serbia won his opening match against Rinky Hijikata (Australia) 6: 0, 7: 6 (7: 1).
Previously, Djokovic had lost three times in a row: in the semi -finals of the Australian Open, he gave up against Alexander Zverev, in Doha and Indian Wells he failed early. He had never experienced three defeats in a row since 2018.

In Miami, his season should turn better. In the third round he meets the Argentinian Camilo Ugo Carabelli. His last triumph to the top tournament in Florida was long ago: in 2016 he triumphed for the sixth time in the final.
One day before the top seed and most recently weakening Zverev (Hamburg), a top player had already caught it. The Russian Daniil Medvedev, number seven in the seed list and tournament winner from 2023, was defeated by Jaume Munar (Spain) 2: 6, 3: 6.
