“It is the most important game of the season. It has to be clear to everyone and it is,” Bremerhaven’s coach Alexander Sulzer said before the game. However, anyone who had expected storming penguins was disappointed: the sharks took over the command – and hit the first good opportunity in the 2nd minute of play.

Müller brought the puck over the line with the ice shoe after Parker Tuomie had prepared. A goal, which was deliberately achieved with the ice shoe, would not have counted, but since Cologne’s captain did not perform a “kicking” movement with his foot, the goal also existed after video review.

The sharks led again and played better better, it spread some frustration with the hosts early. Rayan Bettahar got a five-minute penalty for a check at head height, but the sharks could not use the long outnumbered for the second goal. And yet: Cologne The more dangerous team remained, even if Christian Weijse missed a big penguins chance shortly before the third.

Another top start for the sharks

The Cologne team, in which strikers Louis-Marc Aubry was missing due to an arm injury, was also perfect. Tuomie (23rd) and Robin van Calster (24th) gave warning shots, Marco Münzberger finally scored 2-0 when he was probably wafer from Adam Almquist (24th).

Tough rings: Cologne Elias Lindner against Christian Wejse

Until then, Bremerhaven’s best chance through the shot of Markus Vikingstad thwarted the Haie goalkeeper Julius Hudacek (29), which was already excellent in the first two games in the series. The penguins increased the number of strokes, Ludwig Bytröm failed on the outer post, but the in the large and all saddle -resistant Cologne defensive came into the third break without conceding a goal.

Bremerhaven faster Connecting goal

The Slovenian Miha lost only 28 seconds after the beginning of the final third broke the spell for the hosts and placed 1: 2 from a penguins perspective. Suddenly the spectators in the ice arena were really there again.

The sharks held against it. The defensive stabilized, and pinpricks come again and again. So Tuomie (45th), Maxi Kammerer (48th) and Frederik Storm (52nd) came to good chances. In particular, Storm could have taken care of the important 3: 1 goal when he only ran on Penguins goalkeeper Krister’s Gudlevskis, but failed on the Latvian.

Cologne gives a leadership from the hand

The equalization almost fell in direct return. Phillip Brugisser pulled off the blue line, which somehow slipped into the goal of the sharks. The game was completely open again. Cologne coach Kari Jalons took a break to optimally set his team for the last few minutes.

It was really hot now: Wejse almost shot Bremerhaven in the lead (54th), Chamber forced Gudlevskis to a parade (55th) and Hudacek in turn saved the Cologne (57th) into the extension with an outstanding reflex.

Momentum at Bremerhaven – but gate for Cologne

Bremerhaven had the momentum after the strong third third on his own side and started the extension. Verlic started the solo and stood up to score the crucial goal, but again Hudacek was there and kept Cologne in the game (62nd).

On the other hand, the 19 -year -old co -felled from the hidden position from right to the goal, Gudlevskis did not get the schooner together – Cologne cheered the goal and equivalent to the away win, which makes the semi -finals appear very close. “The crucial game is often the hardest,” said Müller: “Bremerhaven now has nothing to lose.”
