The A50 motorway was closed on Friday to Monday at the Ekkersweijer junction near Eindhoven. Rijkswaterstaat carries out maintenance work there. Road users have to detour and take into account an extracular time that can go up to fifteen minutes.
The A50 closes on Friday from nine o’clock in the evening. This takes five hours until Monday morning.
There are several closures:
- A50 Connection road at the Ekkersweijer junction from Son en Breugel in the direction of Eindhoven-Center and Ekkersrijt exit.
- A50 exit Helmond at the Ekkersweijer junction from Tilburg and ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the direction of Helmond/Eindhoven-Centrum.
- A50 exit Ekkersweijer from Eindhoven/John F Kennedylaan.
Maintenance on the road
Traffic is diverted. The diversion routes are indicated on the spot. Rijkswaterstaat indicates that the maintenance work is weather sensitive. In bad weather the work may not be possible and then it will be scheduled another time.
These maintenance work fall under the maintenance contract that Rijkswaterstaat has carried out. It is about maintenance on the road network, viaducts, bridges and tunnels.
