“The first day we were here, we learned the most important rules: respect, empathy and authenticity. Our school really insists on that. You have to apply those values and let them come out of yourself,” says student Ellen Constandt. Her fellow student Anna Malecka adds: “We do many simulations at school to learn how to deal with difficult situations, such as aggression or patients who themselves show cross -border behavior.”
According to teacher Annemie Decleir, learning to deal with boundaries is an important part of the training. “Those are even main subjects: ethics and psychology. We consider questions such as: what is cross -border behavior, and what are standards? In addition, we train our students to be assertive and intervene when they see something that cannot be done.”
