NVIDIA continues to expect massive expansion of the AI infrastructure

Nvidia continues to try to dispel doubts about the amount of future AI spending. According to “Dow Jones Newswires”, CEO Jensen Huang explained to analysts as part of the GTC that the previous expectations of the expansion of AI capacities were too conservative. In addition to the planned investments by the large cloud service providers, independent projects such as Stargate or XAI must also be taken into account that build your own AI factories. This has not been done so far.

According to “CNBC”, the four largest cloud providers have already acquired 3.6 million Blackwell GPUs from Nvidia. Since Nvidia counts every Blackwell unit as two GPUs, this means a significant increase compared to the 1.3 million hopper GPUs of the previous model. “We already know that in a few years AI infrastructure worth several hundred billion US dollars will be built up,” quotes the Huang news page. “The budget is approved. The energy supply is approved. And the country is available.”

Billions of investments in the USA planned in the USA

Nvidia is also planning massive investments in semiconductor production in the USA over the next four years. According to an interview with the “Financial Times”, the company wants to procure electronics with a total value of up to half a trillion US dollar during this period. Part of this sum, several hundred billion US dollars, is to be invested directly in the USA. This decision reflects America First Policy from US President Trump, who aims to reduce the dependence on foreign supply chains.

Nvidia is investing in the future of quantum computers

NVIDIA also drives the development of quantum computer technology: The chip manufacturer announced the construction of the Nvidia Accelerated Quantum Research Center (NVAQC) in Boston on Wednesday. According to the company, the center is intended to combine leading quantum hardware with AI supercomputers in order to enable so-called “accelerated quantum super computing”. The aim is to solve central challenges such as qubit noise and to transform experimental quantum processors into practical systems.

To achieve this, the NVAQC will use the NVIDIA system GB200 NVL72-which is called the most powerful hardware for quantum computer applications so far. This enables complex simulations of quantum systems and supports advanced algorithms for quantum error correction. In addition, artificial intelligence and quantum computing should be linked more closely. “Quantum computers will complement AI supercomputers to tackle some of the world’s most important problems, from medication development to material research,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang according to the press release. The NVAQC should start its work this year.

This is how the shares of Nvidia and quantum computer companies react

The NVIDIA share will temporarily fall 0.88 percent to $ 118.56 on Thursday on Nasdaq after it ended Wednesday trading by 1.81 percent higher at $ 117.52.

Shares of quantum computer companies react differently to the message. The Quantum Computing share temporarily loses $ 8.26 at NASDAQ, while Rigetti shares at 9.63 US dollars are $ 2.81 percent lower.

Papers from D-Wave Quantum also temporarily win 2.22 percent to $ 10.82 at the NYSE, while Ionq shares temporarily identify a loss of $ 0.75 percent to $ 23.13.
