Dorpsbelangen Ruinerwold-Berghuizen is critical of the Wolden municipality. In the coming days, information meetings will be held about the possible arrival of windmills at the village. The group says it has not been informed, while it is a sensitive subject.

The organization was under the assumption to work together with the municipality if there were talking about the information meetings. “We see very little of this to date,” the organization writes in a letter to the municipality.

The municipality is looking for a suitable place for three wind turbines, which are needed to achieve the energy goals. A suitable location is at Ruinerwold, there is research on that.

During the meetings, the municipality will discuss the plans with groups. There is criticism of that setup. The resistance to wind turbines is growing, to discuss this in a smaller context, Dorpsbelangen is not on.

According to Dorpsbelangen, it is not the first time that they are left in the dark. Last year the municipality had contact with them about the possible arrival of windmills. An investigation into this was not yet announced.

In the September that came, without an announcement. Dorpsbelangen was therefore surprised because she was under the assumption to hear that on time. Within three weeks, the city council had to decide whether the investigation into wind turbines at Ruinerwold could continue. A process that calls village interests as a hurried.

Subsequently, agreements were made with the municipality say the letter writers to prevent situations like this. The group does not notice much of that.

That is a bit more nuanced, De Wolden states. According to a spokesperson for the municipality, agreements have been made about better communication. The intention is always to send newsletters, press releases or letters to Dorpsbelangen.

“Sometimes the mail fails or our newsletter system makes a mistake and not everything is sent in one go, but that is our intention,” the municipality says. Due to a malfunction at the printer, the physical letter with information about the meetings this time arrived too late.

This has been discussed with Village Interests, according to inquiries at De Wolden. Dorpsbelangen confirms on Facebook in a message that sharper agreements have been made. “Of course we stay critical of this,” is the closure.

The municipality does want to emphasize that the idea for conversations in groups of the local residents themselves comes.
