On March 17, the iheartradio Music Awards took place in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. Lady Gaga won in the “Innovator Award” category and expressed mixed feelings in her speech in this regard – precisely because she felt that she was exposed to a bit of age discrimination. At the age of 38, the career only begins

Above all, this would mean not to compromise. In the same way, the artist honored her grandmothers: “They did not invent technology or art. They invented opportunities to design the future with nothing other than their mind. And these women, my ancestors, are the greatest women I’ve ever known.” She also thanked her fans, the LGBTQ+community, her fiance Michael Polansky and many more.
At the end of her speech, she appealed to all artists: inside who had ever heard that they were “too different”, “too much” or “too complicated”: “Please never change. The world does not need any further copy, it needs your original.”
In addition to the “Innovator Award”, Lady Gaga was also nominated for prices in the categories “Best Cooperation”, “Best Musikvideo” and “Favourite Onscreen”.
