The biathletes start at the World Cup final in Oslo from Friday to Sunday. 15 DSV ski hunters will be involved in the wooden cums. The focus is only on one: Franziska Preuss.

The biathon season will come to an end in Oslo on Sunday. It is already clear that it will be a weekend full of emotions. When the Bö-Brüder Johannes Thingnes and Tarjei in their homeland, tears are guaranteed to flow. The Germans also hope for tears of joy. Franziska Preuß waves the first World Cup victory of her career. The 31-year-old travels as a World Cup leader and at best back with the large crystal ball in her luggage. But it will be a thriller because the French Lou JeanMonnot has only 20 points behind.

Ascent from the IBU Cup

Prussia is certain. The German biathletes travel to the World Cup final with an enlarged line-up. Seven women and eight men start at the last races of the season.

In the women, Stefanie Scherer and Anna Weidel come from the second-class IBU Cup into the Oslo enjoyment. The recently sick Philipp Horn returns to the men’s team, and Roman Rees and Simon Kaiser developed over the IBU Cup extra starting spaces.

Philipp Horn also comes into the Oslo enjoyment and experiences the farewell of the Bö-Brüder up close.

“Bring the overall World Cup back to Germany”

While the men are just fighting for a conciliatory conclusion, Prussia is about crowning a dream season. “It is important to bring Franziska Preuss’s narrow lead overall and bring the overall World Cup back to Germany“, said DSV sports director Felix Bitterling. In addition, Selina Grotian is mixing for the blue jersey for the best U23 athlete. Grotian is three races in the overall World Cup three races before the end of the season and in third place in the U23 classification. “With three strong competitions, everything is still possible here”says Bitterling.

Men want a conciliatory conclusion

It is important for the men to continue the positive trend of the past races – especially in the mass start and in the season – at the shooting range and go into the season break with good results, said the sports director.

If Prussia grabs the big ball for the first time, there should also be a hearty party in addition to many well -wishers. Prussia would only be the sixth German overall winner and the first since Laura Dahlmeier in winter 2016/17.
