The Berlin glasses dealer Mister Spex SE has found a new boss. The position of the chairman of the supervisory board is also filled.
As the company announced on Monday evening, the supervisory board appointed its previous chairman Tobias Krauss to the new CEO. Krauss will take over the position on April 1st. He replaces CFO Stephan Schulz-Gohritz, who has headed Mister Spex as an interim CEO since last August. Schulz-Gohritz should continue to remain Chief Financial Officer (CFO). His previous deputy Nicola Brandolese was appointed successor to Krauss at the head of the Supervisory Board.
Krauss is considered a restructuring expert
As CEO, Krauss recently headed the participation company Abacon Capital, which is one of Mister Spex’s most important shareholders. He has been a member of the glasses provider’s supervisory board since 2020, and in July last year he took over the inheritance of the committee.
In the course of his career, Krauss has made a name for himself as a restructuring specialist. In view of the extensive reforms at Mister Spex, this experience should be helpful in its future role.
Nicola Brandolese takes over the chair of the supervisory board
The designated supervisory board chairwoman Nicola Brandolese explained the decision. “We are happy to have found the ideal leader for Mister Spex with Tobias,” he said in a statement. “With his comprehensive expertise as a turnaround manager, he will accelerate the transformation of the company and focus on sustainable growth and the success it should achieve.”
At the same time, he paid tribute to the previous interim CEO, which led the company through the recent upheavals. “The entire supervisory board speaks to Stephan Schulz-Gohritz for his leadership in the initiation and control of Mister Spex’s transformation program in recent months.
