The producer of fiber cement plates Eternit has settled a draft memorandum on a decree obligation for asbestos producers as “disproportionate” and “possibly discriminatory”. The fact that the company seemed to lay part of the responsibility even with the end users of asbestos -containing products encountered a lot of incomprehension from the members of the Environment Committee of the Flemish Parliament and Victim organizations.
