After his regular Dutch partner Hans Becking had to cancel for the Cape Epic, Alleman experienced a difficult start with Stosek in the past two days. The two ended in the prologue and the first marathon ride outside the top ten.
In the fairly flat time trial on day three, everyone found a tailor -made course and Stosek experienced a better day. Alleman and Stosek impressed with a time of 2:13:05, where the top ten of the rankings would eventually bite the teeth. The Swiss ginger -drags, Filippo Colombo and ten -time world champion Nino Schurter, came closest to a time of 2:13:32.
