King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will open the King’s Games at the KPO De Vlindertuin primary school in Roosendaal on 17 April. To open the special sports day for King’s Day, the royal couple will have breakfast with the students of primary school.

KPO De Vlindertuin has 293 students. Moving learning and healthy food are central to primary school in Roosendaal.

The school has the ‘Healthy School’ vignette for the ‘Exercise and Sport’ theme certificate. The vignette is a quality mark for schools that work on improving the health of their students.

Extra turn
Schools and children are challenged at the thirteenth edition of the King’s Games to give an extra twist to the day. Whether it is a small adjustment or a big change, serious or a little crazy, everything that children get in motion even more is welcome.

The King’s Games traditionally start with the joint King’s breakfast. Then the royal couple opens the Games and visits the sports activities.

Earlier in Brabant
In 2017, the King’s Games were opened by the Royal Couple at the De Vijfmaster primary school in Veghel. In that year the family celebrated more often in Brabant. King’s Day was then also celebrated in Tilburg.

The King’s Games were first organized in 2013. The year of the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander. Children have breakfast, sing, dance and exercise during the King’s Games.
