The former Rosenstolz front woman Anna R. died surprisingly at the age of 55. We take a look at five important songs of your career – with rose stud, as a solo artist or other projects.
Rosenstolz – I am me
I am one of the biggest hits from rose stolz. The single was released on March 3, 2006 and dates the big life from the album. The song addresses self -acceptance and identity and became one of the band’s hymns. The associated album reached number 1 on the German album charts.
Track 8 – who I am
Whoever I am is the first single of the debut album of Gleis 8, a band project that Anna R. founded in 2010 together with the saxophonist Lorenz Allacher (which is now also also deceased). The single was released on May 10, 2013 and stayed in 70th place on the charts for a week. The band’s debut album appeared two weeks later and reached 7th place on the German album charts.
Anna R. – The astronaut
In 2023 Anna R. published her solo album Queen. The first single, the astronautin, appeared in February 2023 and marked a new section in the musician’s career. “I let myself fall / am weightless and free / like an astronaut in space,” it says.
Rosenstolz – love is everything
Love is everything is one of the most famous rose stolz songs. Written by Peter Plate, Ulf Leo Sommer and Anna R. was published on March 1, 2004 and reached 6th place on the German Single Charts. It is also contained on the album heart, which reached number 1 on the album charts in Germany.
Anna R. – good night
Good night is one of the tracks of the Anna-R. solo album king: in 2023. It should be the last song that she would perform live: on March 20, 2024, she appeared in the Metropol Theater in Bremen-her last concert. She ended the show with good night.
“So I wish you a good night / so that you know, one last time, I thought of you / I thought of you, I thought of you,” she sings in it – in retrospect it sounds like a farewell.
