The strange end of the fly press conference – Petri Matikainen grabbed Ville Peltonen and said a couple of words

The gloomy regular season of the Oulu Flyers ended with a severe disappointment on Saturday. HIFK took a tough battle in Raksila and sent a fly herd for a summer vacation.

The Flyers were ranked 13th. Petri Matikainen was hired to lead the Oulu rescue project for the rest of the season when Ville Mäntymaa Got fired from the head coach.

The press conference on Saturday’s match got a confusing end. After the answers were given, Matikainen took a brotherly grip on Peltonen and began to push the HIFK pilot to the side.

– Go to the end … Matikainen told Peltonen before the duo disappeared from the pictures.

Perhaps Matikainen hoped that HIFK’s long, dry period would end and the team would lift the Canada bowl after more than 10 years.

“That work is done”

Matikainen did not whip his team for the last loss of the season. HIFK dramatically settled the victory half a minute before the end of the third round. Flywater Damian Clara tried to shoot on an empty hifk paint but donated the reel Iiro Pakarinenwho finished the winning goal.

HIFK took the sixth field player on ice because it knew the win would raise it to the top four and straight to the quarterfinals.

– I’ve been involved for 12 days. From day one, we got a clear change to the team. The game improved all the time. We played the game in peace, we didn’t panic.

Matikainen emphasized that the most important task was to lift the Flyers off the Playout.

– That work is done. I would have liked to have continued the games, but there was nothing for it, Matikainen said and thanked the Oulu hockey community.
