After the death of Chester Bennington, not only half the (music) world mourned around Linkin Park’s front man. At the same time, the discussion about the correct treatment of depression and the prevention of suicide also flared up.
The widow of Bennington, Talinda, now posted a photo on Twitter that she said that it was created just a few days before Bennington. The 41-year-old can be seen with an exuberantly laughing with his family during an excursion during the holidays of the children.

For Ms. Bennington, the photo is also a contribution to the discussion about the difficulties of dealing with suicide ideas “There were thoughts of suicide, but you would never accept … #fuck depression,” she wrote about the very uncanny picture.
Linkin Park will publish a new song with Chester Bennington. Seven years after his death, the singer will be heard again at a release of the band.
Linkin Park: Recordings from 2017
The song “Friendly Fire” was created during the work for the last Linkin-Park album “One More Light” (2017), but was never published. The band is now planning to change this. On social media, the musicians already shared a section of synthpop influences and explained the history of origin. The teaser seems to be the chorus. The lines can be heard: “We’re Falling Apart for No Reason / We’re Pulling The Trigger in A Useless War / If We Back and Go Into the Black / What Are We Fighting For? What are we fighting? / It’s just Friendly Fire. ” It is not yet known when exactly the song will appear.
Mike Shinoda spoke about “Friendly Fire” in 2020
The second Linkin-Park singer Mike Shinoda said that there was another song with Bennington in 2020. “We mixed more songs than are on the finished album”, quotes “Alternative Press” a twitch stream of the musician. “We also mixed a few other songs to see if one of them was selected. Or we could use it for a B-side, and that was ‘Friendly Fire’. ” Shinoda also shared that the song was created in collaboration with Songwriter and producer Jon Green, who was also involved in “One More Light”. “I still love the song,” concluded Shinoda. Then he continued: “Is he already outside? Did we publish ‘Friendly Fire’ at some point? No, right? ” When asked by fans, when they would hear the material, he later replied: “You will have to wait years – just for information.”
More “new” songs with Chester Bennington
It is not the first time since his death that songs with Chester Bennington still appear. His former band Gray Daze published the two albums “Amends” and “The Phoenix” in 2020 and 2022, for which she used old vocals from Bennington. In 2023, Linkin Park also shared previously unpublished songs with her late singer – “Lost” and “Fighting Myelf” from the time of “Meteora” (2003). In 2020, “She Couldn’t” appeared, which the band originally wrote for the debut “Hybrid Theory” (1999).
Otherwise, Linkin Park has been covered since the death of her singer. The remaining musicians said several times that no further music was planned. “I always tell people when there is news, I will already tell them,” said Mike Shinoda. “I am not a fan of ‘Greatest Hits’ publications or remastering, so if we have ever put on a Linkin-Park album, this should be a big thing. If we cannot achieve this quality, we don’t do it. If it’s not great, we shouldn’t do it. “
