The FC Bayern footballers celebrated an important victory in the championship race – because Wolfsburg let Pernille Harder develop too often.
The shiny Dänin Harder scored two goals (13th, 47th) in the 3-1 (1: 0) victory of FC Bayern Munich against VfL Wolfsburg and put on Lea Schüller (69.). Lineth Beerensteyn (75th) shortened on Friday in the top game of the women’s Bundesliga.
Due to the victory in the hard -fought, but only in the second half of high -class game, leaders Munich now has six points ahead of VfL in third place. “The three points are incredibly important in the championship fight”, Bayern professional Klara Bühl said on ZDF. “We played in a flow.” Bavaria also managed the revenge for the 0-2 defeat in the first leg.
Game begins bloody
The game had started bloody when FCB goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic collided with her teammate Glodis Viggosdottir in the second minute of play. Mahmutovic was bleeding on the Lippe, captain Viggosdottir had to be treated for a long time with a cut on the eye and continued to play with a headband.
At first, not much happened in a playful manner until the ball hit in the Wolfsburg Gate like out of nowhere. After a throw -in on the right side, Alara Sehitler flanked out of the half field, Klara Bühl touched the ball on the first post and Harder netted on the second post. The former VfL striker had escaped Wolfsburg’s defender Sarai Linder, who had jumped for Marina Hegering at short notice. Hegering had suffered a muscle injury when warming up.
Popp with borderline grätsche
Alexandra Popp’s borderline tackle against Magdalena Eriksson (16th), for which Wolfsburg’s captain rightly saw yellow, was symptomatic for the first half. Bavaria’s Sydney Lohmann reacted so that it was also warned. Nicklings, intensive duels and several injury interruptions shaped the game.

One of the few playful highlights was the big chance for Wolfsburg’s Jule Brand (30th). In the 16, she took the ball heavily in a confined space, put it in a shot position and failed on the strong foot parade of Mahmutovic.
Harder escapes Dijkstra
After the break, the game also played playfully. Just two minutes after the restart, Harder struck again, again she escaped an opponent. This time Caitlin Dijkstra acted too hesitantly after a cross from Jovana Damnjanovic.
Once again only two minutes later, substitute Lena Lattwein sent the signal with a long -range shot on the crossbar that Wolfsburg can continue to be expected. But Bayern scored the next goal again: Harder dribbled on the right side of Janina Minge and found the head of Schüller with her slightly deflected flank – the preliminary decision.
The only Wolfsburg goal resulted from a strong individual campaign by Beerensteyn. The ex-Munich fought the ball on the center line and then dribbled dynamically past Sarah Zadrazil and Tuva Hansen into the penalty area.
Intensive weeks with Champions League and DFB Cup
For Bavaria, the first and second leg in the Champions League quarter-final against series winner Olympique Lyon (March 18 and 26), in between the semi-finals of the DFB Cup on Saturday, March 22nd, will be against TSG Hoffenheim. Wolfsburg has already left in the cup and can concentrate on the Champions League duelle with FC Barcelona (March 19 and 27).
