Peter Fox is back with a special project: The concert and documentary film “Block Party- Peter Fox celebrates with Berlin” celebrates its premiere on March 25, 2025 in the ARD Mediathek. The focus is on an extraordinary concert series by the Berlin artist, which in the summer of 2024 led him to the middle of those quarters that otherwise attract attention through headlines about social problems and conflicts.

In the middle of the social hotspots of Berlin, Peter Fox gave spontaneous concerts – free of charge, outside and for everyone. The appearances and preparations can be seen in a 100-minute film by director David Seeberg. He accompanied the Seeed singer in his ambitious attempt to bring people together who pass on each other in their neighborhoods every day.

For this, FOX moves into well-known “problem-kieze”-for example to the meadow in the Görlitzer Park, between the high-rise buildings on the Pallasseum or in the Pallasseum, which is a symbol of the heated debates about violence and integration in Berlin.

But what sounds easy first turned out to be an enormously complicated process: with the concert project, the organizers encountered massive bureaucratic hurdles.

In the documentary, Peter Fox also focuses on young newcomers

In addition to Fox, there are also three young Berlin music acts-the next generation that even lives in these quarters:

Nik (24), rapper and producer from Marzahn, who processes his own difficult childhood with music.

Kevin (31) alias “44 degrees”, rapper and educator from Neukölln, who passes on his music through hip-hop workshops in youth centers.

Cerin (16), student from Gropiusstadt with roots in Lebanon, who writes her first song for the “Block Party”.

With this perspective, “Block Party” also becomes a portrait of Berlin away from the hype about the Star – the film is also a documentary about young talents, hope and the attempt to bridge music. See the trailer here:
