IFW: Danger of the shift station only partially banned
The Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IFW) warns of a special fund after the agreement. “The compromise on the special fund ensures that at least a significant part has to be spent on additional infrastructure investments,” said IFW President Moritz Schularick. “The risk of a shift station of planned investments from the household into the special fund is only partially averted.” The coalition now has a great responsibility to deal responsibly with the considerable financial scope. Especially in the area of defense, it must be about massive investments in high technology and the proportion of research and development tasks in order to be prepared for the conflicts of tomorrow.
