The official game ball of German professional football will be provided by Adidas from the 2026/27 season.
As the German Football League (DFL) announced, the cooperation with the global company from Herzogenaurach initially runs for four seasons until 2029/30. It applies to all games in the Bundesliga, the 2nd Bundesliga as well as the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and in the relegation between 1st and 2nd Bundesliga.
Adidas prevailed with an offer that is convincing for the DFL and the 36 clubs after all parameters, said DFL managing director Steffen Merkel.
“The selection of the right official game ball is of particular relevance for the top-rich top league in Europe. We are very happy about this return and the early planning security associated with the cooperation, ”he emphasized.
The official game ball in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga from Adidas came from 2010/11 to 2017/18. By the end of the coming season 2025/26, the teams continue to play with balls from Derbystar.
