Second day, the second home win: The Italian cyclist Jonathan Milan won the second stage of the Tirreno-Adracico on Tuesday (11.03.2025).
After 192 kilometers from Camaiore to Follonica in Tuscany, the daily favorite by Team Lidl-Trek prevailed with an early start in the mass sprint. The 24-year-old in the overall ranking is 19 seconds behind Landsmann Filippo Ganna in second place.
At the start on Monday, Ganna from the Ineos Grenadier team had crossed the finish line over 11.5 kilometers as the fastest in the individual time trial and celebrated the first home win.
Cutsch as the best German in 21st place
In Milan’s victory, Maikel Zijlaard (Netherlands/Tudor Pro Cycling Team) and Paul Penhoet (France/Groupama-FDJ) now completed the podium. The best German was Jonas Rutsch (Erbach/Intermarché-Wanty), who drove over the finish line as 21st.
Gaudu falls and gives up
The peloton remained together until the end of the flat stage before Milan attracted unobtrusive. The Frenchman David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) crashed almost 40 kilometers before the finish.
Hilly third stage
On Wednesday, 239 hilly kilometers between Follonica and Colfiorito (Foligno) are waiting for the peloton. A few kilometers before the target, it is important to cope with a mountain rating of the highest category – an excellent chance for outliers.
In total, seven stages are driven on cycling by bike ride. Last year the two-time tour winner Jonas Vingegaard (Denmark) triumphed. This year he is not at the start, but takes part in the long -distance trip Paris – Nice. He won the team time trial with his team Visma – Lease A Bike on Tuesday.
