Unilever, known from Hellmann’s, Dove and Calvé Pindakaas, has recently started a new CEO called Fernando Fernandez. The Unilever veteran was already ready in the wings to succeed Hein Schumacher. Schumacher was put aside two weeks ago by growing pressure of impatient investors. They want to see results faster. According to the Unilever Board of Directors, Fernandez, since 1 January last year CFO, is better suited to implement the recovery plan. That plan must ensure more profit for shareholders.
