In the 2nd Bundesliga, the 1st FC Nürnberg has long found no means against the relegation -threatened SC Preussen Münster – until the final phase. A withdrawn elf caused discussion.
On Sunday, the Nurembergers took a flattering 1-0 (0: 0) from the Münsterland. Lukas Schleimer (82nd) scored the goal. Dramatic: Almost Münster would have gotten the great chance of equalizing due to a penalty.
But referee Lars Erbst took back the penalty after VAR intervention and view of the images (90.+4). Caspar Jander had touched the ball with the elbow in a free kick by Marc Lorenz in the wall, but heb was too little for a 911.
Münster coach Hildmann says nothing about the hand scene
At the sports show microphone, Münster coach Sascha Hildmann preferred to say nothing about the penalty scene afterwards. Instead, he encouraged his team: “The team has shown a very committed performance, but is currently not rewarding itself. The things just don’t go in. And you still get a goal with the last actions. But nobody will break us.”
Nuremberg coach Miroslav Klose said: “What I have heard now was put on my arm and rightly not a penalty.” But he showed understanding for the complaints of the home side: “Of course it is difficult to accept in Münster. Every point counts.” Münster remains 15th with the defeat (23 points). Nuremberg jumps in eighth place (38 points).
Uncomfortable Münster -baseds Nuremberg
The FCN had numerous inaccuracies in the building game and struggled away from the start with the energetically performing hosts, who also committed many fouls. In half one alone there were twelve, Rico Preißinger (21st), Jano Ter Horst (29th) and Florian Pick (34th) saw yellow. In half one, Münster still won almost 54 percent of the duels in a fair way.
Consequently, it was the Prussians who earned the first double chance of the game. On a flank, the guests from David Konsombi left his eyes on the second post, but he did not really hit the ball from a short distance, shortly afterwards Nuremberg’s Nick Seidel saved again in front of Simon Scherder (27th).
Justvan’s direct free kick bangs on the Prussian post
For a good 30 minutes, Münster remained the more active team at the front due to good pressing and several winding moments, had seven shots in the statistics at half -time – Nuremberg only three. Marc Lorenz left another good opportunity (44.).
It was a good thing that the Nuremberg in the first section actually only became dangerous due to a resting ball. Julian Justvan fled a direct free kick from about 25 meters to the left outer post (30th).
Slapstick scene With Münsters Kinsombi and Nuremberg’s Reichert
With simple means, Münster first kept the upper hand in the second round. It was often about captain Marc Lorenz. He then searched for a flank Kinsombi – twice that almost led to success until the hour brand (48th, 58th). The second time, especially the second time, Nuremberg was in luck. Kinsombi hit the post by head, from there the ball hit the fingers of FCN goalkeeper Jan Reichert and then again to the aluminum.

The Franks wavered, Münster made steam – and something went on in standard situations. Lorenz, the most striking Prussian, circled the ball sharply on the goal, but parried brilliantly (67th).
Münsters Batmaz celebrates comeback after cruciate ligament tear
Shortly before the end of the final phase, there was an emotional scene on the side of the home side: Malik Batmaz replaced Ter Horst (66.). Batmaz, who had shot the Prussians to climb with 17 goals last year, celebrated his comeback seven months after his cruciate ligament tear.
Shortly afterwards, Batmaz put a header over (68th). After that, the Prussians no longer came up with great opportunities.
FCN meets late and survives Handball scene
But the Nuremberg, who practically scored their goals out of nowhere. First Jens Castrop conquered the ball, followed by a fantastic dribbling from Stefanos Tzimas into the penalty area. Tzimas put over to Schleimer, who pushed in – 1-0 for the “club”, who survived the dangerous handball scene in the last minute of the regular season and successfully brought the lead over time.
