For the second time within a very short time, handball referee Jesper Madsen had to cancel a game. This time, however, he should be worse.
Once again, the Danish handball referee Jesper Madsen had to end a game prematurely. During the game between Aalborg Handbold and TTH Holstebro (30:29) on Saturday evening, Madsen broke in the 45th minute he could not keep on his feet due to dizziness.
Helpers rushed up and transported the referee on a stretcher from the field. Madsen was conscious all the time. At the end of February, the Dane in the Champions League had suffered a similar incident when meeting KC Veszprem and Sporting Lisbon. At that time he was overturned shortly before the break and had to be taken care of medically.
According to investigations, no serious health problems had been found at the time. Madsen then explained that he had previously had no such symptoms.
His colleague Mads Hansen reported on TV2Sport: “Compared to Veszprem, he is worse today. He is a bit dizzy. He sits outside in the ambulance and has handed over. He seems to be more dazed than last time.” Hansen then forwarded the game alone.
