In the competition from the Großchanze, Selina fetches her next medal at the competitions in Norway. Only one is better on Friday.

Ski jumper Selina Freitag won silver from the Großchanze at the Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim and thus her third medal in the title fights in Norway. After silver in singles and bronze in the team from the normal hill, the 23-year-old from Oberwiesenthal only had to give up on the Slovenian Nika Prevc on Friday. The competition was canceled after the first round due to strong winds.

“The tension was pretty high, even if I didn’t want it. I didn’t get to fly here. Then blow down in the competition is really relieving,” said Freitag.

Prevc was the first jumper to win both single titles at a World Cup. Bronze went to Eirin Maria Kvandal from Norway. The seven -time world champion Katharina Schmid landed 19th.

It was the second German medal in a World Cup decision by women on the big hill. At the premiere 2021 in Oberstdorf, the German jumpers had left empty. In 2023 in Planica Schmid won silver.
