Asylum minister Marjolein Faber (PVV) does not want to change her asylum laws in addition to a “small correction on a technical imperfection”. She said this to the Council of Ministers on Friday before the start of the Council of Ministers. “I have not adjusted the explanation.”

On Friday, the Council of Ministers will consider the minister’s asylum laws for the second time. In an emergency advice, the Council of State stated in February that Faber has carefully prepared the asylum laws. It is not recommended to submit ‘in the current form’. The PVV minister said at the beginning of February that she would change ‘not a word’ and repeated that on Friday.

That ‘small correction’ would be about the ‘intention procedure’, which wants to completely abolish Faber. That procedure is the written announcement by the IND of rejecting an asylum application. The applicant can still respond to this. Faber wants to delete that possibility.
