The sales in the retail trade of the euro zone were unexpectedly in January.
In the month comparison, revenues decreased by 0.3 percent, as the European Statistics Office Eurostat announced on Thursday in Luxembourg. Economist: on the other hand, an average of 0.1 percent expected an increase.
In December, sales had remained stable according to the revised numbers. Initially, a decline was reported by 0.2 percent.
Compared to the same month last year, retail sales rose by 1.5 percent in January. An increase of 2.0 percent was expected here.
