Although the Lower Sachsenidby takes place in Hanover on Sunday, it should get full in the Eintracht stadium on the match day. But nothing becomes of it.
The continued decision to restrict the guest supporter at the Lower Saxony Sendby triggered enormous outrage at the fans of Eintracht Braunschweig. Large parts of the BTSV supporters will not travel to Hanover next Sunday, March 9th. The Ultras call up to the boycott.
Eintracht had therefore planned a special campaign. Despite the away game, it should get full in the stadium on Hamburger Strasse. Public viewing was planned. But nothing becomes of it. Despite numerous discussions with the relevant network partners, the necessary approval was not granted, the BTSV said on Wednesday. A live broadcast in the stadium could therefore not be offered.
The association did not give any further details of the decision, but drew attention to an alternative. The stadium gastronomy “True Love” will be broadcast on the stadium forecourt for up to 500 people right next to the arena. A prior registration is not necessary.
The Hanover police department had ordered the guest fans to partly exclude again in early February. In Hanover, only 60 percent-and thus a maximum of 2,541-may be the Eintracht supporter in the Heinz von Heiden Arena. At this dispute, the police directorate relies on paragraph 11 of the Lower Saxony Police and Regulatory Authority Act, according to which it can “take the necessary measures to ward off dangers”.
Because of the repeated riots before, during or after the games between Braunschweig and Hanover, Lower Saxony’s Interior Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) even threatened a complete exclusion of guest fans at these derbies last year. In fact, only 1,260 instead of 2,100 96 supporters were allowed to buy a ticket at the first leg in Braunschweig.
Then both fan camps demonstrated separately against each other. There were also protests before the second leg. The Braunschweig fans marched, for example, in the course of a demonstration by Hanover to the Lower Saxony Ministry of the Interior and Sport, where Interior Minister Behrens is based. Braunschweig supporters also protested on the edge of the carnival.
