In 1676 about a third of Assen went up in flames. The old monastery buildings with the abbey church are just spared, but the recipient house is burning down. During the walk -in afternoon of the Asser Historical Association (AHV) on March 7, of course, no images of this dramatic event can be seen, but there is more than enough other information about burning and the fire brigade.
