To post suggestive photos and telephone numbers of nine women on social media and sex sites, a 26-year-old man from Meppel has been sentenced to 35 months in jail, of which 18 months are conditional. The man had also collected child pornography and was convicted of defamation.

Twelve women reported the man. The judge finds nine cases sufficiently proven. The women had discovered that they were on sex sites with or not processed photos and telephone numbers. It said that they were in for sex assignments. The women were called flat by men with obscene proposals.

Some women also saw other victims on the same sites that they knew. Some women went on research together. They also saw photos of a friend, who at that time had a relationship with the Meppeler.

It slowly became clear to them who could sit behind this. They noticed that all victims were ex-friends or former colleagues from the man. Eventually they went to the police.

The Meppeler denied with the police when he was approached. He continued to make new victims by placing unwanted photos of them online with unfair proposals.

According to the court, he was active from March 2021 to October 2022. In March 2023 the man was put out of the swimming pool in Meppel, because he assaulted an 11-year-old girl. The judge thinks that too. Child pornography stood on the man’s phone.

De Meppeler denied everything when he was in court two weeks ago. He admitted only the online insulting (reproach) of the father of one of the complains. In May of last year he posted a photo of the father with the text that the man was violent. He also mentioned the address of the man. He did that because he had been abused by the father. The Meppeler was smashed the hospital with a broken nose and breastbone.

The father came up for his daughter because she had been brought through the mud by the Meppeler online. The father does not have to appear in court for this. The case has been settled by the Public Prosecution Service with a criminal decision (fine or community service sentence).

Four years in prison was demanded against the Meppeler at the beginning of February, two of which were conditional. The judge comes to a different proven statement and also takes the passage of time into account.

The Meppeler must be treated. In addition, he has to pay several victims a total of 5500 euros. He was also banned from contact with all the complains and with the father of one of them.

The suspect may not have contact with minors without adults, as long as the probationary period lasts. He must be checked for alcohol and internet use.
