The municipality of Halderberge imposes penalty payments of five thousand euros on all carnival lovers who come with a drinking wagon to the Peejenland (Hoeven) parade on Tuesday. With this measure, the municipality wants to put an end to the nuisance of the ‘moving cafés’ full of young people, alcohol and loud music.
Four owners of drinking cars that were checked during the parade last year were preventively warned by the mayor in a letter. For example, a spokesperson told Omroep Brabant. The amount of fines of five thousand euros applies per violation per day and can amount to 25,000 euros.
Thorn
According to Carnival Foundation De Peejenzaiers, young people from outside the village often cause nuisance during Super Tuesday, as the parade in Peejenland is also mentioned. “It’s about nuisance that is difficult to curb.”
For example, the enormous loud music is a thorn in the eyes of the inhabitants and the spectators of the parade and they are crazy about the wild -peeing youth. Moreover, the drinking cars, which are often not even allowed to drive on public roads, provide dangerous traffic situations. Stop drinking wagons
In consultation with the Carnival Foundation, the municipality and the police are carrying out a zerotolerance policy this year. “Last year, the drinking cars that have to run in were led to a parking space outside the event site. This year all the drinking cars that nevertheless come to be stopped and fined,” said the carnival foundation. The municipality cannot say what exactly the check will look like on Tuesday.
The carnival foundation and the municipality emphasize that everyone is welcome to celebrate carnival in Hoeven. “Because carnival in Peejenland belongs to everyone! So, be welcome without a drink. “
