The Spanish top favorite Marc Márquez has a dream start into the MotoGP season.

The new Ducati factory pilot won the sprint race on the 57 degree asphalt in front of his brother Alex in Buriram/Thailand at 38 degrees air temperature.

The third party was the Italian ex-world champion Francesco Bagnaia, who drives together with Márquez (32) in a team, perfectly a Ducati trial success.

Thanks to his undisturbed start-finish victory, Márquez impressively underlined his ambitions, after moving from the Ducati Kund team Gresini, the former series world champion is aiming for his seventh world title. German pilots are not reported in the premier class.

Márquez ‘compatriot Jorge Martín can only get into the “Mission of the title defense” later. The Aprilia driver had suffered a broken hand at the beginning of a training session and had to be operated on. Martín should be able to accelerate again in the third race at the earliest.

The main race at the first start of the season in Southeast Asia since the 1999 kick -off in Sepang/Malaysia takes place on Sunday (9:00 a.m. CET/Sky), Márquez is on the pole. The next stop is the Grand Prix of Argentina in Termas de Rio Hondo on March 16.

The Grand Prize of Germany will be held on July 13th at the Sachsenring. The season finale with the 22nd and last World Cup run will increase in Valencia in Spanish on November 16.
