Romanian football mourns the loss of junior national players Luca Manolache. The midfield talent died on Friday at the age of 19 after a short, serious illness. After the start of the season last summer, Manolache complained about strong fatigue and dizziness, and since then he had been treated. However, his health has deteriorated rapidly. An exact cause of death was initially not published.
Manolache was trained at the Romanian record champion FCSB and was considered a player with a great future. Five days after his 17th birthday, he celebrated his professional debut in May 2022. He had been awarded to the second division team FC Metaloglobus for a year, for which he completed 13 games (one goal) before his illness stopped at the end of August.
“We are shocked and deeply sad about this tragic loss! His love for football and smile brought joy to the field, ”Metaloglobus wrote in a message. Manolache went through the U15 to the U19 all Junior teams in Romania.
