The basketball players of Alba Berlin remain the cut in the Euroleague. The Bundesliga club lost at the Turkish top club Anadolu Efes Istanbul with 73:98 (35:48). For Alba it was the 13th defeat from the last 14 games in the premier class. The best Berlin launchers were Yanni Wetzell with 20 and David McCormack with 13 points.
At Alba, Robert Baker II, who was only hired on Thursday, was not yet in the squad. In addition, the battered Matteo Spagnolo and Malte Delow were missing. But wing player Justin Bean gave his comeback after a four -month break because of a wrist break.
More valuable than expected
In Paris, Michael Kessens played little recently – in January he switched to the baskeballers of Alba Berlin. A change that surprised, maybe even a bit sober – but is still valuable on the hunt for the playoffs. By Jakob Lobachmore
Only in the initial phases at eye level
The guests started courageously, initially acted at eye level. In the middle of the first quarter they even briefly took the lead with 14: 9. But once again the Berlin throw rate was too weak from a distance. In the second quarter, only 14 points were achieved and Istanbul was able to settle for the first time.
After the change of sides, Alba caught again, but the capitals did not get closer than ten points in the third section. The Berlin defensive could never really stop the hosts’ offensive. And in the last quarter, Alba was completely without a chance again.
