The SV Darmstadt 98 has extended the expiring contract by Matthias Bader (27). The lilies did not provide any information about the new contract. The right-back is currently in rehab after a cruciate ligament and inner meniscus tear suffered in September. Bader came in January 2020 for 450,000 euros from 1. FC Köln to Darmstadt, where he quickly established himself as a regular. There are five goals and 15 templates in 118 games for the lilies.
“We are pleased that we can continue to build qualities in the future. In recent years he has shown what importance he can have for our game. At the same time, we also wanted to give Matze the opportunity to fully concentrate on his further recovery in the coming months without having to worry about his future, hopefully at the beginning of the summer preparation to get back into team training. In this process, of course, we will continue to support him fully, ”said sports director Paul Fernie.
Bader added: “I have been with the lilies for over five years now and during this time a very big connection to the club and the city has developed. I am therefore very pleased that Darmstadt 98 and those responsible despite my serious injury, with the desire to continue the cooperation. I will do everything I can to return to the pitch as soon as possible to repay the trust placed in me. ”
