Captain Jordy Clasie is playing his first cup final with AZ. The Alkmaarders eliminated Heracles in the semi -final in Almelo after penalties. “That I can still experience this is very beautiful,” said Clasie, who used the first penalty kick from AZ, at ESPN. AZ will play the cup final in De Kuip against Go Ahead Eagles on April 21.

“Winning in this way gives a special feeling,” said AZ’s captain, who gave away a lead twice in the regular playing time (2-2). “Of course we didn’t play well, but that doesn’t care me today. We didn’t start the game well and made it very difficult for ourselves.”

AZ stood for 2-1 in the second half for a long time. “In the second half we had it under control and we didn’t give much away,” he said about the period until the 2-2 fell. “But this kind of moments happen in football. Everyone is happy now and tonight we enjoy and then recover.”
