Certain current initiatives will continue for a while. For example, the city will continue to pay the wage of the local coordinator for the time being and the subsidy of 22,000 euros for Ostend schools will also be maintained. In addition, the cooperation with the province around Kusterosia, for which both parties each take 20,000 euros, is still retained until the end of the year. However, these initiatives will be fully stopped in 2026.
According to the city council, Ostend has to make clear choices and the collaboration with Banjul is no longer a priority for the future.
