Valérien Ismaël takes over another club in the second English league. On Tuesday, the former coach of VfL Wolfsburg was presented at the Blackburn Rovers and signed a contract there until 2028.
For Ismaël it has been the seventh station in Lower Saxony since the time, where he worked until February 2017. After Apollon Smyrnis, LASK, FC Barnsley, West Bromwich Albion, Besiktas JK and FC Watford, the championship is now going into the Championship. In 104 games, the Frenchman comes to a point cut of 1.57.
The rovers are currently in sixth place and would therefore be qualified for the promotion playoffs, but in 15th place there are only nine points (for the table). “I am very happy to welcome Valéria in the club. We were very impressed by him during the setting process. He knows the league very well and knows what it takes to get into the play-offs. He played in some of the biggest teams in Europe and trained them and brings all the prerequisites to be successful with us in the coming years, ”said Managing Director Steve Waggott.
