Although the team of the team is disappointing to date, Bakker prefers to look at the bigger picture. “We have a very strong group with varied players. A mixed group. The general trend in the selection is that everyone also wants to continue next season. There are no sounds that people want to stop.”

“The process we started four years ago costs a lot of energy. This season I don’t want to speak of a kink in the cable. Only the line cannot always go up tightly. We have shown this year that we have one Being a strong group and being able to handle setbacks well. “

Ambitions

Bakker has been connected to Koog Zaandijk for almost all his life. With the exception of two years at the Blauw-Wit in Amsterdam, he played no fewer than eleven seasons in the Korfball League for the club.

“My ambition is to do very well with KZ. That is what I want now. KZ is just a top club, so I’m really good here,” says Bakker about his goals for the future. “But it is certainly conceivable that I will ever go somewhere else. But I am not looking that far at the moment.”
