13,300 homes were added in Brabant in the past year. That is about 14 percent less than last year. The municipality of Oirschot is opting for so -called infringement, making homes in buildings that are already there.
The province is quite satisfied despite the decrease. The housing was, and sit, still in a dip throughout the country. Causes are problems with permits, nitrogen and the considerably increased construction costs.
More than 10,500 homes were added due to new construction, but 3000 vacant offices, retail premises and other real estate were also converted into houses or apartments. In this way municipalities have to build less on the edges of the village or the city and in the green.

Eleven of the houses fall into the ‘Affordable Buy’ category, but with an asking price of around 350,000 euros for the young people in the village far from feasible.
