Berlin (dpa -AfX) – After the AfD’s election success, the chairman Alice Weidel is already looking at the next Bundestag election. With the SPD and the Greens, the Union could not form a stable government that lasts four years, she said in the “Berlin round” of ARD and ZDF. “We will overtake the Union in the next few years.” At the same time, she announced that the new AfD parliamentary group would also “agree to the Union reasonable applications if necessary”. With left -wing parties, the CDU and CSU could not implement their politics – especially as far as the limitation of irregular migration concerns. “The whole thing will fail,” predicted Weidel.
Union Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz (CDU) contradicted the interpretation of Weidel, according to which the majority of voters wanted a coalition of the Union and AfD. He could not recognize this, said Merz, especially since he clearly excluded a government alliance with the AfD before the election. There are big differences between the Union and AfD, for example in foreign and security policy as far as the view of Europe, NATO and the euro concern. Turned directly to Weidel, he said: “You can stretch our hand as you want – we don’t do wrong policies for this country.” Merz emphasized: “You want the opposite of what we want, and that’s why there will be no collaboration.”
The AfD is a destructive party that only exists because there are unresolved problems and dissatisfaction in Germany. This party has no interest in solving these problems. The aim of the Union is to thwart the strategy of the AfD through successful problem solving, said Merz. If the problems are then solved, “this party will also disappear” ./ Abc/dp/e.g.
