In the 2nd Bundesliga, SpVgg Greuther Fürth celebrated an important home win in the relegation battle. The home side had the much better ideas against Eintracht Braunschweig on the offensive.

On Sunday, Fürth prevailed 3-0 (1-0). Noel Futkeu (10th), Julian Green (88th) and Jomaine Consbruch (90.+8) scored the acclaimed goals for the “clover leaves”. Fürth climbs to eleven with the victory, Braunschweig falls onto the relegation rank.

Fürth coach Jan Siewert then said at the Sportschau microphone in the direction of the fans: “What was going on here was sensational. Then I thank you for wearing us.” Siewert accounted for progress in the team: “We find more in the clarity of the game principles, into the intensity we need for our game – with and against the ball. And that we feel like we feel in every game now.”

Daniel Schering, coach of Eintracht Braunschweig, explained: “We were unclean in our own pressing and without depth in possession of the ball. In the second half we played different football and were better in the game. With a little luck, you make it 1: 1. Of course it goes in a completely different direction, of course What hurts very much. “

BTSV starts ambitious and then decreases strongly

It was the guests who initially performed more vigorously. Braunschweig pressed early and tried to force Fürth into long balls. However, the SpVgg had the first big option. After a cross from Marco John on the left wing, Felix Klaus, Maximilian Dietz and Branimir Hrgota failed with their degrees (8th).

This scene should be a harbinger of what came then: Greuther Fürth searched the way forward again via the outside, this time via the right. Klaus left Ermin Bicakcic with a courageous start and put in the center for futkeu, who scored for the lead. Braunschweig’s goalkeeper Ron-Torchen Hoffmann had already stormed out and thus beaten, Paul Jaeckel was the last man even helpless.

Fürth legitimizes his own leadership

As a result, Fürth legitimized this leadership and increasingly took control. The half-time statistics showed twelve SpVgg goal shots, on the Braunschweig side there were only two. Hoffmann had just scratched a further end of Fürths Futkeu from the corner (32nd), Julian Green also only hit the post (42.).

For the second half, the visibly dissatisfied BTSV coach Daniel Schering took three changes. Levente Szabo, Mohamed Dräger and Julian Baas had to give way for Fabio Kaufmann, Marvin Rittmüller and Sven Köhler (46.). At first the Braunschweigers acted somewhat more energetically, something had made up for themselves. Eintracht now played more structured and more determined.

Two hits count because of Offside positions not

Another joker then caused a real danger in front of the Fürher Tor for the first time. Richmond Tachie, who had come for Johan Gomez, gave a huge chance to compensate for a half -left position in the penalty area (68.). On the other hand, the ball fidgeted again on the net – again it was futkeu, but it didn’t cheer for long, because the gate didn’t count because of an offside position.

Just like in the supposed compensation of the Braunschweig a little later: a pass from the midfield was even further spied onto Rayan Philippe, who met by the substitute striker Sebastian Polter, who met – but stood out by Polter. The hit was revoked after Var-Check.

Greens Hammer makes everything clear prematurely

In return, Fürth attacker Julian Green then put the lid on it. Futkeu left a pass from Consbruch Clever through Green. He prevailed at the penalty area with great ball leadership, his degree struck to 2: 0 at the corner. Consbruch was set by the final final point, which even set 3-0 on top in the added time.

Before that, however, there had also been a bitter scene from Fürth’s point of view: goalkeeper Nahuel Noll had to strike from the field, apparently with a thigh injury. It was replaced by Lennart Grill (81.).
