Marco Odermatt once again demonstrated his Super-G qualities at the Super-G in Crans Montana. The world champion from Switzerland won in front of his compatriot Alexis Monney (+0.28). Altmeister Dominik Paris (ITA) also made it to the podium as third (+0.39).
The Swiss fans freaked out when driving on Marco Odermatt. “Odi, Odi” calls were heard all the Swiss run. The world champion was on the road with the start number 15- with the draw, he was not settled before the race. But the leading in the overall World Cup could not be disturbed by the poorly coming slopes. Odermatt found the best line – and stretched out the fist at the finish line.
No purely Swiss pedestal like the day before
Odermatt is currently not to be beaten in the Super-G. Only Monney and Paris could keep up with the super star. Monney lost to his compatriot, especially in the lower part.
If three Confederates were on the podium the day before, Dominik Paris was able to break this dominance this time. The Italian convinced primarily in the sliding piece and was rewarded with third place.
Baumann misses Top 20
Romed Baumann started the race with the high start number 35. The DSV athlete has not yet reached a top 20 result in the Super-G. And even in Crans Montana it shouldn’t work with a top 20 result. Baumann landed in 21st place with 1.38 seconds behind.
Luis Vogt, the second German driver, was uncertain and couldn’t finish.
