Lance Stroll leaves Formula 1 and may even start a career in tennis? These rumors have repeatedly circulated in the recent past. Now the Aston Martin driver has spoken quite clearly in this cause.
Lance Stroll has an advantage in Formula 1, which for him personally also likes to be a disadvantage, because he is the son of the team owner of Aston Martin. Means: Basically, Stroll doesn’t have to worry about his driver’s seat. However, he is always under very special observation.
In addition, in the past, Stroll always pulled the shorter towards his teammates. In 2024, he last landed with just 24 World Cup points 46 points behind Fernando Alonso (70), who was at least ninth behind the top team drivers. In 2023, Stroll won 74 points, Alonso 206.
No wonder that many observers wondered whether Stroll shouldn’t do anything else. Among other things, – fueled by “Mirror” and “Sports Illustrated” – the rumor made the round that the Canadian was so good in tennis that he thought about switching to the ATP tour.
In the podcast “The Fast and the Curious”, Stroll now wasted all speculations in this direction. “Be careful, don’t believe everything you read,” he said there, adding: “No, no, I’m not so good in tennis. Someone has come up with it, I really don’t know how it came about is.”
Stroll: I’m not good enough for that!
Of course, when he was young, he tried many sports, the son of billionaire Lawrence Stroll continued. “But it was said that I would go on the ATP tour. Am I good enough for that? No,” wiped the 26-year-old, who goes to Formula 1 in his ninth year.
His conclusion: “Someone came up with it all, I just don’t know who exactly.”
In keeping with the rumors, the former Haas team boss Günther Steiner had had doubts about Stroll’s motivation for Formula 1.
“He never seems to be happy, no matter what happens,” Steiner indicated in November 2024 in the “Red Flags Podcast”. “Let us see it like this: If Daddy had no team, I don’t think Lance would be a Formula 1 pilot, because he doesn’t want to be anyone,” said the F1 expert.
