Two sons by ex-Hertha coach Pál Dárdai are already playing for Hungary. The third offspring hadn’t decided yet – until now.

DFB talent Bence Dárdai has decided to run for the Hungarian national team in the future. The Hungarian Association MLSZ confirmed this and also received the necessary approval from FIFA. Dárdai had previously played in the youth teams of the German Football Association (DFB).

The Hungarian national coach Marco Rossi emphasized: “We have known for a long time what potential it is in it, but we wanted to give him time so that he fits into his new team well.” Dárdai himself was enthusiastic about his new perspective: “I am very happy that I belong to the Hungarian national team in the future. Of course I am also looking forward to the first home game, because I have heard of my brothers that in the Puskás-Arena There is a fantastic atmosphere for the national team. “

Dárdai thus follows the family pattern: his father Pál and his brothers Márton and Palkó also played for Hungary or still play for Rossi’s selection.

With the German U17 national team, Bence Dárdai won the European Championship title in 2023. Last summer he switched from his home club Hertha BSC to VfL Wolfsburg, where he developed into a permanent squad player.
