After the World Cup bronze, Johannes Kühn reveals his plans: the biathlete wants to end his career soon. He already has one time in view.

The joy of the WM bronze medal won was still fresh, when Johannes Kühn already spoke about the end of his career. The 33-year-old announced that she wanted to stop after the 2026 winter Olympics.

“I have been with every major event since 2018, this is my last World Cup, and I get a medal in my last race,” said Kühn after the relay race in Lenzerheide.

When asked, he explained that his current plan went up to the Olympics in 2026. Plans could change, but now this is his last big goal. Kühn answered whether he would end his career afterwards: “Probably yes.”

Kühn won his first World Cup medal in Switzerland and was visibly moved. At the finish he broke out in tears. Success meant a lot, especially the moment together with the team. “Sitting here now and celebrating with the boys and the whole team is the biggest thing that I have achieved. I am incredibly proud of that,” said the biathlete.
