The women missed precious metal on Saturday afternoon after too many mistakes at the shooting range. The men wanted to do it better a few hours later – and were successful.

The German biathlon men got the long-awaited World Cup medal in the season. The quartet around Philipp Nawrath, Danilo Riethmüller, Johannes Kühn and final runner Philipp Horn won bronze behind Norway and France.

The decision was made in the last shooting. Horn and the Swede Sebastian Samuelsson stood at the shooting range at the same time. While the German hit all five slices, his Scandinavian opponent failed in the last attempt. The necessary relief loader brought Horn the necessary lead to ensure the German medal.
