The rivalry between Hansa Rostock and Dynamo Dresden is one of the strongest in German football. That could also be seen on Saturday.
The game between FC Hansa Rostock and Dynamo Dresden in the 3rd league was interrupted shortly before the start of the second half at 1-0. Fan camp of both teams shot at with pyrotechnics and bright bodies. The police stepped in and stormed the fan block between the fan curve by Hansa Rostock and the grandstand, which are side by side in the Baltic Sea Stadium.
Referee Tom Bauer then sent the players into the cabin. Dynamo’s striker Stefan Kutschke went towards the guest block. It looked like he wanted to calm the situation. But shortly afterwards there was also a wrangling on the edge of the field. Right in the middle: Kutschke and Hansa coach Daniel Brinkmann. After a few minutes of word battle, however, the situation calmed down.
After almost 30 minutes of interruption, stadium spokesman Oliver Schubert spoke up. “Please listen very well to me,” said Schubert. “First: We lead 1: 0. Secondly: If a person ignites pyrotechnics here, the game will not continue.” A clear announcement by the security forces.
Schubert therefore emphasized: “I appeal to all of you and common sense that we get the game over the stage and end regularly.” The game could only be continued at 3:35 p.m., after more than 30 minutes.
The rivalry of both clubs is known throughout Germany. Before the first leg in Dresden, the Rostock fan scene had called up to avenge the pollution of the beaches of the Baltic Sea from the “dirty Sachsenbrut”.
